Technical Features - All Models

  • PolyTuf Textured Powder Coating: The Rheem gas heater has a polyester-coated, non-corrosive cabinet that is more durable than solventborne- and waterborne-coated metal cabinets. Every piece of sheet metal goes through a 7-stage wash system, making certain the powder paint has a perfect bond. Underneath the tough, yet beautiful finish you will find galvanized metal that offers superior rust prevention and years of durable service.
  • Wind-Resistant Design: No need for fans to combat drafting problems. This heater is designed to draft naturally in outdoor installations with its exclusive low-profile design. It is so thoughtfully and carefully designed it actually protects itself from the things that tend to stifle ordinary pool and spa heaters. It delivers uninterrupted heating performance regardless of falling leaves, wind, airborne debris, rain, downdrafts, updrafts, sleet, snow, etc.
  • Polymer Headers: Polymer headers prevent rust stains from harming your pool or spa's surface, giving you years of trouble-free swimming pleasure.
  • All-Copper-Fin-Tube Heat Exchanger: The fin tubes of the heat exchanger are each made from a single piece of extruded copper. This integral-fin design allows maximum heat transfer to be attained and maintained. Cupro-nickel is also available as an optional upgrade.
  • 2" and 1 1/2" Water Connections: Supplied with every Rheem heater is a set of 1 1/2" PVC hose connections to make your installation secure and effortless. Easily accommodates 2" plumbing with optional adapters.
  • Burner Tray: Every burner tray is built to last, from the stainless steel burners to the aluminized metal used in the heat sensitive areas. Innovative design allows for the easy removal of the tray and burners for servicing.
  • Fire Tile: A ceramic fiber combustion box keeps your heater running efficiently while keeping the outside jacket cool. By using this space-age material the heater won't retain residual heat after it is turned off, allowing it to be installed without the use of costly metal heat sinks.
  • Fuel-Efficient: Energy-smart Rheem heaters consistently achieve the highest efficiency ratings. They exceed all federal and state standards.

SunHeater Solar Heater

SunHeaterFor Your Aboveground or Inground Pool
Over 300,000 pool owners have used solar powered heating systems. In fact 20% of all pool heaters put into service this year will be solar heaters. More solar collectors have been made for heating swimming pools than all other uses of solar energy combined.

Get the Most From Your Pool
A SunHeater solar heated pool is so inviting the whole family will use it for fun and exercise. A soothing heated pool also makes a great environment for grandparents to enjoy their grandchildren. For early morning swims, a leisurely dip after work or for quality time with your family. SunHeater will enable you to use your pool more than ever before.

Better Than Fuel-Generated Heat
The SunHeater solar pool heating system can achieve the same results for your pool as a gas heater; but without the dangerous gas lines or huge fuel bills. Gas heaters not only cost more to buy than SunHeater solar pool heating systems, but in many cases gas heaters are simply turned off after the first fuel bill arrives. A solar heated pool stays warm, because heat is constantly added for free. All it takes is one or two warm sunny days.

How Does it Work?
The SunHeater solar pool heating system uses your existing pool pump to circulate water through the many small passages of the solar collector, where it is warmed by the sun, This heated water then flows directly back to your pool through your regular pool plumbing.

Different Than a Solar Blanket
A solar blanket will help a pool retain heat, but a SunHeater solar system actually adds heat to raise the temperature of your pool water. Unlike a blanket, the SunHeater collectors do not lie on top of the water, so they do not need to be taken off or put back on when you want to swim. However, a blanket can enhance the performance of your SunHeater system earlierand later in the season.
