A solar blanket is an excellent investment for any pool. Not only do they transfer the heat of the sun to the pool water, but they also cut down on the evaporation of the water, which in turn saves on chemicals and maintenance. The solar bubble type is the most popular kind of solar blanket. The thousands of air filled bubbles transfer heat to the pool water. These covers are lightweight and can easily be cut with scissors to the configuration of the pool. The efficiency of the solar blanket is dependent on the amount of sun the pool receives during the day. Temperature rises can be anywhere from 10 degrees to 15 degrees. When using a solar blanket on the water, the bubbles should be facing down. This creates a suction effect that holds the cover in place. Unless you have very strong winds, this should be sufficient to hold the cover on. Do not trim the cover until it has been on the water for 4 to 5 days. Since the cover has been rolled and folded, the plastic needs time to relax. Cutting too soon can result in a bad fit. When you need to remove the cover, have one person stand on each side of the pool. Roll the cover back, lift off the pool and store out of the sun's direct rays.
WARNING!!: AVOID DROWNING RISK. THIS IS NOT A SAFETY COVER. STAY OFF COVER-- WILL NOT SUPPORT WEIGHT. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY. CHILDREN OR OBJECTS CANNOT BE SEEN UNDER COVER. REMOVE COMPLETELY BEFORE ENTRY OF SWIMMERS -- ENTRAPMENT POSSIBLE. NON-SECURED OR IMPROPERLY SECURED COVERS ARE A HAZARD. FAILURE TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DROWNING |

If the temperature goes over 90 degrees, take the pool cover off. Hose debris on the cover o the skimmer box while the pump is on. This should pull most of the dirt into the filter and not into the pool. When you use a solar blanket, you will find your pool will stay a lot cleaner. This will cut down on maintenance and give you more time to enjoy your pool.
